I'm looking for an old recipe. I can't remember all the ingredients.?
You toasted fresh peanuts in the oven and shelled them. I know my grandfather heated pure cane syrup in an iron skillet, but I can't remember if he added anything else before he added the peanuts. Then he poured it on a platter to cool. He would then cut into squares. They were gooy, but awesome. Can you help me find out if there was anything added to the syrup?
Sounds like he was making peanut brittle. Here's a recipe link: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_18137,00.html
-One thing you can omit is the cinnamon...it's not necessary and most peanut brittle recipes don't have it.
