Cast Iron Lodge Cookware

People are thrilled about cast iron skillets and their cast iron pans for a lot of reasons.

For one thing, they are an excellent heat conductor, so ideal for cooking. Cast iron cookware heats well all the time, and heats evenly.

Another big plus of cast iron cookware is the fact it is cheap, especially when you consider it can be a lifetime investment. In fact, cast iron pans can last for many lifetimes, and be handed down from one generation to the next.

With a properly seasoned piece of cast iron cookware, foods will slide out as well or better than from pans made of teflon. You don't have to worry about bits of teflon coming off and getting in your food, you don't have to buy special utensils to keep from scratching the surface, it won't warp out of shape, and cast iron is easy to clean.

It will also go from stove top to oven, no problems!

If there is any downside to cast iron, it would be that the pans are somewhat heavy. Of course, this is part of what makes them so rugged! Just put your pans someplace that are easy to reach and you'll be good to go. You'll be reaching for them often, so it will be good to have them handy.
