Fry Pan Cook

How long should I fry a Pork Chop in a frying pan, cooking with gas?
Don't eat them myself but cook them for my mother-in-law, every time I cook them (she says) they r tuff - where am I going wrong?
I believe You are cooking them too long. There isn't a set time,but the interal temp should be 160 if you have a meat thermometer. Otherwise,its touch that tells you when it's done. Is it still soft and leave a thumbprint when you press on its center,or does it feel fir,. Firm is cooked..HARD is over cooked...soft is undercooked. Good Luck!
